Reflection on This Week

My week was truly amazing! On Monday, I did some work in the grammar book. Then, I worked with William to write a whole paragraph on Black Boy on page 104. Next, on the computer, I had to change all of my sentences for my webzine blog. Later, I rewrote the Black boy paragraph as a quiz and typed it up and emailed it to Ms. Mckeone. That was my day on Monday.

On Tuesday, I had written my warm up on the paper. Then, Ms. Amber and I worked through my assignments. Also, I had published my blog webzine however I added a link to magazine website. After, I really did nothing the rest of the day. Next, I wrote my homework on the paper. That was my day on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, when Ms. McKeone was not here, we had a substitute teacher. Our substitute teacher was named Mrs. Capuni. Ms. Evans gave us the do now on the board. I did my 3 quizzes on the computer in the back of the room. Later in the day I did my free time on the new computer. That is what I did on Wednesday

Yesterday, I did a number game with my classmates. Then, I took my mail to the nurse. Later, I  played hockey in the gym with my other friends. After, I went on the computer and did my personal stuff like checking my gmail and yahoo. That is what I did Yesterday.

Creating Our Webzine

I went on the computer and did my wireframe. I had to organize all of the 5 box pages. I also put the logo represents the website and the menu bar on each page. I added the home page and it would be my first page and it would be my first webzine page. That was my wireframe charts.

On my flowchart, I did the boxes on where I was going to put them. I copied and pasted the boxes from the menu organized. Then, I added text in my upcoming, home, songs, featured and about page. I changed some text in the box to make it even better. I printed the flowchart to my wireframes I have been working on. Everyone will see my flowchart and give feedback on it. 

I had searched for a logo on the website. My logo was the African American kids dancing. I looked for that logo image on Google images. In conclusion, I copied and pasted the image on a Word Document with my one sentence. Finally, I also printed that one out with the wireframe and flowchart.

I had began creating my website on wix.com. On wix.com, I had uploaded images of African American people on my home and featured page. I also had music on songs page that were soul and hip hop. On my upcoming page, I wrote a sentence but did not add a video to it. On my featured page I had added a few pictures of the African American artists. Then, I showed everyone my webzine that I made.

I did a presentation on my wix website. I made everyone see the African American artists. I also showed everyone the music I added on my songs page. I told my audience I have a video I was going to upload on my upcoming page. After I did my presentation, my peers and teacher gave me feedback for my website.

I went on my wix to change some things. On the Featured, I added text about the African American artists. I also added some text next to the celebrities on the home page. I moved the about page on the second page next to my home. That was the change on the website.

I did a final presantation on my website. My peers told me I should put text above pictures. They also told me I should change the background and make it brighter so everyone can see. I also was told I should name the artists song name on my songs page. I got a C on my final presentation.

The reason why I should choose African American magazine because all people who are african americans should be engaged to my website. All African Americans want to listen to songs and learn about new artists. African Americans should think the website it is interesting because they also want to see the african americans celebs. African Americans also want to know what is coming out in movies and shows. That is the reason why I chose African American magazine

The Chinese Buffet.

My news subject is on the Chinese buffet. There are all kinds of chopsticks. Chopsticks are hard for me to get. Chinese people always use chopsticks instead of forks to eat. If I was a chopstick, it would say hey sir come get me.

There are kinds of food at the buffet. The kinds of foods are at the buffet are chicken wings, chicken nuggets, rice and sushi. My favorite food back in the day was chicken wings, chicken nuggets and rice. That food was the best dinner at the restaraunt. I could go back at the restaraunt and just dine.

In the restaraunt, the walls have those dragons on it. The dragons represent the Country of China. The color of the dragons on the walls would be red. I like dragon symbols because they are just shiny. That is my story on dragons.

There are kinds of sweets in Chinese buffet. My favorite sweets back then was brownies and ice cream. Those two desserts make me feel like I'm in Sweetland. Everybody wants to say mmm... that was the best dessert in the restaraunt. The dessert would say in the end see you later sweetie.

How Was Your Weekend?

My weekend was great. On Saturday, I was checking my yahoo mail on my Palm phone. I went to a block party and had fun. Then at night, I was playing my Mario Kart DS on my Nintendo Ds system that was in my red bag. On Sunday, I ate hot dogs and drank juice the whole day. I watch the Phillies game against the New York mets and they lost from five to nine. I did not watch animated shows because their was racing on Fox. Yesterday morning, I called my dad and Vincent on the phone after 10. I watched Action News at 4pm with Brian Taff, Shirleen Allicott, Adam Joseph and Alicia Viteralli. Then at night, I went to bed and put the air conditioner on to get ready for school the next day.

Facebook

I like facebook because I can publish my own stories about my day. I want people to comment on my status. I can send requests to my school friends. I can check my facebook on my phone and type up something. Vincent and Stephon can confirm me as my friends. I want to send messages to somebody. I can do whatever I want on there.

Deshaun: Becoming A Mentor

Ms. Cohen's class came to room 421 in the morning. Ms. McKeone told us we need to make a comic. I helped make a comic with a young student named Amir. I asked him to drag pictures and type in the dialogue. Amir and I were done after we made our comic about what Amir likes about this school and class.

Being a mentor and helping a student is everything to me. I let Amir do his own comic by dragging pictures and typing dialogue words in the application. Amir and I exported the comic as a PDF File to the web. I told him what he must do on my computer. We emailed out our comic as an attachment to Ms. McKeone.

After we made our comic, we talked at our fifth period lunch and I asked Amir where was he from. Then Ms. Cohen's class was getting ready to say goodbye to Ms. McKeone's class. Mr. Southerton took a picture of us in the hallway and no security guards were bothering us. It was nice having Ms. Cohen's class over to our school, it almost looked like a meeting to me. We collaborated together on our assignment and we got collaboration dollars.
